Name
Alice Lovelace.

Age
Sweet 16.

District
Five.
For a long time District Five was the place to be if you wanted to work with animals, and remnants of this industry still remain, from scattered ranches to exotic pet breeding. However, the time has changed, and oil rigs and refineries are the far more common sights nowadays. Sadly, the region is becoming far more polluted than in previous years; the sun is now as black as the night sky and the acidic rain has eaten away at everything that was once beautiful. Unfortunately, most of the people here have little money and are drowning in financial problems.

Appearance
Alice Lovelace Ingrid-michaelson

Personality
Before her mother's death, Alice was the creepy outcast. She talked to herself, wore clothes that were far too big for her and wandered aimlessly through the streets at night. She obtained horrible nicknames because of her strange behavior but that all changed when she met Shane. Shane wasn't much different than her; he had family issues as well, and they were both a bit lonely. Sure, he had girls who were head over heels in love with him.. but he hardly payed them any attention unless he really wanted something. Shane was the only one who really understood her and would listen to her mindless rambling about the abuse she suffered through at home. And just like that, she went from a cold, and quiet loner to a sweet, outgoing little girl who loved hugs and chocolate cake. But everything seemed to sort of fall apart when Shane left her to participate in the Hunger Games. Alice thought he was going to die. That next week was when her mother died, and Alice completely lost it. She became a complete nut-job; having arguments with herself, throwing things across the room when she got angry and crying herself to sleep every night. And then she received news that Shane had won.. He had survived. It was like someone had repaired everything that was wrong in Alice. She was so insanely happy, and she didn't even care that people looked at her as if she were completely mad..

And that's exactly how Alice has been ever since. A generous, chocolate-loving hopeless romantic that just can't sit still and who could probably rip your face off in a heart-beat if you made her mad.

History
Alice's life is not your typical ''oh my parents died in a fire and now I'm living in the community home" type of thing. Her parents didn't die, they were killed; murdered, whatever you'd like to call it. But, they weren't murdered by just anyone.. they were murdered by Alice, herself.

Well, actually, Alice only murdered her mom. Her father was a Peacekeeper before he left District Five and she never really cared much to ask where he went, but she had heard that he was a very cold and ruthless man. Her mother was a pathetic young lady, 17 years old when she found out she was pregnant with Alice. She lived in a very poor family, and was desperate for money. To be honest, she barely knew Alice's father. And after Ms. Lovelace had Alice, she would disappear from the house late at night, refusing to tell where she had gone the next morning. It wasn't a surprise that Ms. Lovelace got pregnant again and two months before she gave birth to Alice's only brother, Sam, Ms. Lovelace wound up engaged to the supposed "love of her life", Erik Thompson, one of the richer and finer men in District Five. But after Sam was born, and Ms. Lovelace was now pregnant with her second daughter, Melancholy, the marriage was called off and both she and Erik Thompson broke up. After the births of her three other daughters, Ms. Lovelace went into a deep state of depression. It was pathetic, really. She became a major alcoholic, and abused Alice and her older children on a regular basis. Sometimes she would disappear for days at a time, leaving Alice to take care of the other children by herself, and would stumble into the old house randomly. With all the abusing, and seeing her unsteady mom all the time, Alice began to grow cold and hard. That was when the voices began to emerge from the black void of her head. In times of loneliness, Alice sought comfort from them. She just needed someone to talk to, and they helped.

One day, Alice grew tired of her mother's striking hand and her unstable self. The voices had begun to grow louder in her weak mind, until finally it overwhelmed her frail body. She found a knife that her mom kept in her room and without thinking, she had killed her in a few quick seconds. The voices ceased. She found a way to blame the murder on a man that lived next door, for who would suspect an innocent, weak and starving 14 year old to kill her own mother?

That same year, Alice was called forth to participate in the 72nd Annual Hunger Games. It wasn't necessarily a surprise that nobody volunteered to take her place.

In the arena, Alice didn't kill anyone.. Instead, she waited it all out. All of the other tributes killed eachother, leaving Alice as the last one standing.

After her success in the Games, Alice returned home to District Five where both she and her younger siblings moved in with their great-aunt.
